What type of Email Marketing Strategy should you have for your business | The Visionary Method
As a business owner, you know that Email Marketing is a powerful tool for reaching your customers.
But what type of email marketing should you use?
Should you send out regular newsletters, sporadic campaigns, or send target communications to specific customers? There are endless possibilities.
In this blog post, weβll take a look at the different types of email marketing strategies and help you decide which one is right for your business.
Before we dive deep, I want to start off by saying no business benefits from a one size fits all approach, which means you will need to do some research on what resonates the most with your audience.
Donβt be afraid to be experimental in your Marketing Strategies - afterall, thatβs the only way to find the exact marketing plan that will help you hit 6 or 7 figures.

What is the difference between email newsletters vs email marketing
An email newsletter is a great way to build relationships and keep in touch with your audience. They are typically sent out every week, biweekly, or monthly depending on what works best for the business owners.
These emails arenβt about selling products but rather about establishing trust between you and your audience.
You can use this opportunity to remind your audience of all other other platforms you are creating content (such as blog, youtube, tiktok, podcast). This will provide you the opportunity to connect with them.
Personally, the best newsletters which have landed in my inbox had content from marketing articles as well articles which are relevant to my lifestyles and not the ones which sell me a product. Newsletters can also contain sections that have a short personal note from you, your latest obsessions, favourite recipes or workouts, updates to your YouTube Channel or Podcast, etc.
Whereas, an email marketing strategyβs purpose is to persuade your audience to take a particular action such as signing up, downloading, purchasing a certain product or service. You can apply this using different styles of email marketing.
Welcome emails: This is when someone has decided they want to learn more about your services/products. This is your opportunity to make your first impression.
Promotional emails: This is useful when you have a new product or service as well as offering a discount.
Dedicated emails: This is where you could have a special offer or host an event but for a specific part of your community only.
Seasonal emails: If you have an offer for various holidays (such as Christmas, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day etc.)
Re-engagement emails: If your engagement is low you could take this opportunity to ask for feedback from your audience in a way to get yourself back to top of mind with your audience.
Nurture emails: This is a series of emails which allows you to foster your relationship with your audience without selling to them but warming them for a future lead.
Hopefully, I didnβt lose you! It can feel overwhelming (especially if these terms are new to you) but itβs not about doing it all. Itβs about finding what works best with your audience.
What you did last year for your Email Strategy may not work this yearβ and that is okay. Donβt get too attached to any one Marketing Effort because itβs ever-evolving.
So, which one should you adopt?
IF YOU DO NOT YET HAVE A PRODUCT/SELLING: You want to build community and the newsletter is a great way to start building trust with an audience as well as provide them with value.
IF YOU ARE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF SELLING YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICES: Email marketing is the better option as you are targeting them to take a specific action around your offer.
IF YOU HAVE AN ESTABLISHMENT BUSINESS: You should already be implementing one of those strategies, so itβs time to start planning to implement the other in your business.
Email newsletters and email marketing are two different marketing strategies.
As a business owner, itβs important to understand the difference so that you can create an email marketing and email newsletters strategy that works for your company.
If you have not been implementing them inside your business, itβs time to start now.
If you already are, but arenβt seeing results you want, maybe itβs time to change your approach.
